COACH SAYS RIDE NEW YORK’S EPIC SKYLINE AND AMERICAN DREAM

New York, 31 May 2016

Contrasted against the backdrop of the iconic New York skyline, Coach’s gang hang around vintage cars shot by Steven Meisel on their home turf of Brooklyn.

With the early morning mist rising over the city, the sky-scraper silhouettes of New York suggest the sparkle and romance of 1940’s cinema. The city whispers that anything can happen and you can be anyone.

Collaged to this feeling of nostalgia are Coach’s long-time collaborator Steven Meisel’s images, where models Rianne van Rompaey, RoosAbels, Jing Wen, Yasmin Wijnaldum and Finnlay Davis mix their tough personal style with no-nonsense biker boots, sweet Americana florals and varsity jackets. Vintage t-shirts with car and cartoon motifs are layered under Coach’s butter-soft leathers. Rogue bags embellished with studding bear the go-everywhere ‘Rexy’ dinosaur mascot, who is found hanging from charms and embossed on signature Glovetanned Leather bags.

Just as New York is known and loved for its melting pot of individuality, this aspect is carried through the campaign on a wave of attitude and "come join our gang" feeling.

Stuart Vevers says: “For our first pre spring campaign I wanted to have a strong statement that focused on our home city of New York, in all its epic beauty and romance. We have juxtaposed this with our Coach girl gang who embody our brands' personality and style.
